  1. Brad's Primer for Converting Custom PC-made levels:

  3. 1. Download the .ZIP file in binary format to your Mac
  4. 2. Open up Stuffit Lite or Stuffit Deluxe
  5. 3. Go to the Translate menu and choose UnZipä
  6.  
  7. If UnZip is not there, you can get the UnZip translator from the file "DropStuff with Expander Enhancer", available at mac archives everywhere.

  9. 4. Pick the zip file in question
  10. 5. In the resulting dialog, in the lower left corner is a check box marked "Convert CR/LFs". ** MAKE SURE THIS IS UNCHECKED **

  12. 6. Select the files in the ZIP file and away you go!
  13. 7. In ResEdit (or using Snitch), change the type of the .GOB file to .DATA
  14. 8. Change the creator to dRfO (that's the letter of the alphabet O).
  15.  
  16. 9. Double-click on the .GOB to launch Dark Forces!
  17.  
  18. If you're still having problems, use the converted GOBs I have uploaded to ftp.amug.org in the incoming directory!
